Does WD have any plans or rumours about releasing a Raptor larger then 74gb?

if you want a drive for storage then why get a raptor when you can get 3 times the storage for the same price.
i have only a 36GB Raptor as my boot drive and have an assinine amount of programs installed including BF1942, BF:V, UT2k4, HL2, CS:S, GTA:3, and even more games that take up a lot of room and still have about 10GB free

if you making a boot drive then go for a raptor. otherwise just go for a storage drive.
I've got a raptor raid 0 array for my boot and I have also got a insane number of programs installed. including TOCA-2, HL2, BF1942, BF1942-DC, City of Heros, Lineage 2, Colin Mcray Rally 4, Richard Burns Rally, Plus loads of other games and that's on just 70 Gig.
You will not have a problem with 70 Gig for a boot drive. However for storage you will need alod more storage and alot less speed.

i partitioned my 74 to 2 36s. 74 gigs is still way to big for a boot drive.
i can boot my pc up in less then 35 secs. maybe even 20, i should time it when i get home. and when i say boot up, i mean totally booted up with some of the basic prgrams that must load during startup. these babies are fast.
and many many people say raid0 with raptors is useless, u should read up on it a little more before you think about forking out another 180$ for an extra drive.

I've recently had follys in playing with RAID Arrays on raptor drives. This is what I found.
Boot Single Raptor (ICHR5) - 18 Seconds to desktop.
Boot Single Raptor (HPRR150) - 19 Seconds to desktop.
Boot Raid-0 16K (ICHR5) - 10 Seconds to desktop.
Boot Riad-0 16K (HPRR150) 15 Seconds to desktop.
Although these we not done Ideally. They where done with the exact same copy of win XP. On the Same Machine.
I have seen a improvement in applcation speeds. However I do alot of Large Image processing and work alot with Large files.
I have also compared HL2 lvl loading times with a mate's machine (Almost identicle specs but he has not got raid-0 and has a MSI board) My lvl's load faster and I installed quicker than he did. but this is by no means conclusive evidence of speed improvement. What I'm pointing out is that my personal experience of RAID-0 was a improvement over a single drive.
I personally Don't hold any favour to these so called "Real World" performance benchmarks. I Use benchmarks to test if my hardware is running "On-par" with expected and that I've not got any major problems that I need to iron out. In reality What Kinda of benchmark can simulate the multi-processing of the adverage machine.
