I recently upgraded my machine. New mobo, more RAM, etc.

my setup is:
EVGA nforce 680i LT SLI
q6600 quad
4GB corsair RAM

Problem is, my bios recognizes 4 GB of memory, but once I instal XP the task manager only shows 2 GB. I've reinstalled windows twice, reducing the partition in hope that I wasn't exceeding some limit and the memory was stuck on the far side
Any suggestions?

You're running a 32-bit OS, which only means 32-bit total address space. Other devices take up part of your 4 GB address space. If you only see 2 GB, you probably have something really taking up that address space, like SLI'ed video cards (if you have 2 x 512 MB video cards, that's 1 GB of address space taken up).

Yea it does show SLI in his sig, so you sound correct

Yes, it's an SLI rig.
So the only way to get the other 2 GB recognized is to upgrade to a 64 bit OS like Vista?
