whats better and why?

DDR-RAM Corsair PC3200 (400) 512MB CAS2 PRO

DDR-RAM Corsair PC3200 (400) 512MB TwinX CAS2

i know the twinX is two sticks, but if i were to have 2 of the Pro sticks would that essentially do the same thing (difference being 1gb). the pro sticks just look so cool with the lights and what not. haha

TwinX is supposed to be a pair of sticks tested together to make sure they'll work together. That's all really. Two seperate sticks would do the same thing but I suppose there's a chance that their timing would be off? I really doubt it would be a problem though.

If you bought 2 of the Pro sticks, and got the same speed, and timings, they would function just fine in dual channel.

ok, but what im asking is, is the pro stick better? doesn't it have memory access led's and what not? (obviously that does not increase performance)

There is some anecdotal evidence that 2225 is possible on the pro's but I had a set of the twinx pc3200llpt that did 2225 as well so I believe in general the lights is what your paying for.

Your system platform and subsequently your motherboard chipset supports dual channel. Assuming the same amount of memroy a single dim is better if your a single channel mother board if not for anything else it would give you the oportunity to add greater quantities of ram later if you feel theneed

GEt it for the lights. But quite frankly I believe they are the same memory sans the lights.

I have read that it's the same memory underneath, just with different head spreaders on top....ones that are larger to include the LEDs.
