Hi. So I'm trying to setup a 2x80wdse raid0 with a 200gb seagate 8mb on the side just for backup.
I'm going to create one massive partition on the seagate with ntfs and was wondering what cluster size to use. I was thinking something like 32k or at least 16k but is that justified? I realise that the default is 4k and I found that anything past that and I won't be able to use file compression (not like I'm going to use it anyway... just interesting).
Also, I understand that a 32k stripe for the wdse's is optimal. It's too much trouble to manually set the cluster size of the boot partition, so I guess I'm going to have to let windows keep it at 4k. But my second partition on the raid drive, I'm thinking of trying 16k.
Does anyone have any opinions? At least on the cluster size for the seagate backup drive, since I'd like to backup my two 80gb's before wiping them by creating a raid array.
