Raid???

I have a a7n8x and my manual says my board has ultra dma 133 or somethin like that. i hear a lot of talk about raid, serial ata...what are these, and will they improve my performance a lot? and i dont need any comments about bein a noob. thanks for any help.

with a a7n8x, you would require a PCI RAID card for hardware RAID
and matched HDDs is best
