What are some good backplanes for raid? I am looking for something with locking mechanisms etc.

Thanks!

What do you mean backplanes for raid? backplanes come installed in a case, and is normally customized for that specific case, they aren't exactly exchangable.

Do you mean a sas expander? those will use sff8087, and they all lock.

Did you mean a port multiblier? I defently wouldn't call that a backplane, but guess you could.

no, I mean backplanes, such as ADP-4000 by cs electronics. Has anyone who is a system builder used any other company backplanes?

I have never liked those, they fall off too easily.

Using a SFF-8482 cable would be much more reliable.

A backplane normally means more than one drive.

I am working on a project for work so I thought maybe knew something. We are using removable drives in our own custom carriers.
