I've been running into an interesting problem and I have no clue how to fix it. Files on my RAID 6 array are missing. The file name is still there but the file shows up as 0 kilobytes. Additionally some of my mp3s on the array are getting distorted and are also losing their data (e.g. distorted as in clicks and skipping, these files previously played fine). I did a consistency check and used windows error checking and both came back clean. I have no clue how to fix this and make sure it's not going to continue to happen. This is with a LSI 9260-8i card and 8 samsung F4's 2TB. Perhaps if I back everything up and recreate the array? Or is the hardware perhaps bad? I'm pretty sure my warranty JUST expired.

Seems like a backup is the first thing i'd do of any data that isn't back up.

I'd consider scandisk, sfc, or raid volume verify on the volume next.

Ya I did that already, everything came back as fine (except for raid volume verify, doesn't seem to support RAID 6). Also I forgot to mention the SMART stats on each drive show up as fine.

Have you run anti-virus or malware checks?

If the hardware looks good, it might be something wrong with the OS.
