Raid-5 SATA Controller - 32 Bit available?

I'm building a new machine and had been intending to base it on the Intel 830 D dual core processor. I also wanted to build a Raid-5 array but would prefer to not use the raid controller that comes on most motherboards. However, I'm finding it nearly impossible to find such a controller that doesn't support PCI-X (64 bit bus) only.

Any ideas? If I want to use such a controller do I need to go to a 64 bit Athlon? Are there no Raid controllers to use on the Intel platform (non-Xeon)?

64-bit PCI slots have nothing to do with the instruction set of your CPU ;)
PCI-X cards have been around since the original pentium days :p
Anyways, besides the fact that your CPU has nothing to do with it, 90% of PCI-X cards are backwards compatable in regular 32-bit/33mhz PCI slots, albeit at a bandwidth hit.
 
When shopping for RAID cards, look at the edge connector. If it has two notches on it, then it is compatible with a 32 bit PCI slot. If it's a PCI-X card with only has one notch on it, then that means it only supports 3.3V signalling and requires a PCI-X slot. Most PCI-X cards also support running with 5V signalling, and will work in a 32 bit PCI slot, admittedly with a bandwidth capped at 133MB/sec.
