RAID 0 after windows install?

Hello.
I have a 500gb 850 evo on the way that I am going to clone my operating system to. I would like to take the 256gb ssd that has the operating system on now and the other one in the system that is the same "crucial mx200 256gb" and run them in raid 0 to have one large volume instead of being split. Is there a easy way of doing this or is it even possible? I see conflicting results on the web. The raid array will be for gaming only " steam, origin, etc."
I have a wd black 1tb for other storage and non essential programs. Oh, operating system that I am using is Windows 7 pro 64bit

there are free options but i don't recall their names but i am sure someone else can name them when they see this.

With Acronis you can create a back up and restore of the OS onto the 1TB drive and format and install both those SSDs into a RAID 0. Once that is done you can follow the steps from acronis to restore your OS onto the RAID 0.

Its possible but as always you run a few risks along the way like bit flips, programs not working right, and EMP blast (/sarc).

I have cloned to several drives but not to a RAID yet but its possible. I believe free options exist but i forget their names since i dont need them.

operating system+essential programs= 500gb ssd
Games"steam,origin,etc"= 2x256gb ssd's in raid0
Storage= 1tb hdd

Just use the windows backup tool. Make a disc image from the 256GB SSD, then restore it to the 500GB SSD. Then you can resize the partition on the 500GB drive.

or sorry. I must have missed read that my bad.

All you need to do is format them and set up a RAID 0. You can use Windows RAID (stripe, which is done in computer management) or Intel RST RAID. A simple google search using either of those terms will find you guides. I don't know which one is better because I have never read up on any indepth review but i would assume the Intel RST RAID would be best.

Your motherboard should have a BIOS setting, you'll need to change it to RAID, then you press CTRL-I on the intel screen and then setup the drives you want in raid, then you're done. Format them in Windows. Then install what you want.

I have 2 SSD RAIDs, Windows RAID and a Steam RAID, they both kick ass.

ok. I was just worried since this wont be on a clean install that I would have had to set up raid initially and not after the fact.

if the OS is not going on the RAID it wouldn't matter because you will set up the RAID after windows is installed no matter what. So your all good.
