The the 11.10 preview 2 and the recent patch for the game itself have the issues with Rage been fixed? ie. texture and npc pop in, screen tears, etc.

I have this game but still haven't opened it because of the issues I read about. If it isn't fixed by now I'll be returning the game. If it is now working I'll keep it.

the saturday release helped a lot with texture popping and the npcs. a lot of people like myself however still have problems with corruption. The game is playable, just not particularly pleasant.

From what I understand the issues have not all been fixed. I'd wait for another patch and driver before investing.

Thanks. I guess I'll return this. I only paid $42 for it but if it isn't working I have too many other games that work to spend my time on. I'll get it from a Steam sale for $10 in a few months.

The issues persist, there is still texture pop-in, as well as low texture quality through-out the game. Unfortunately, no driver or game patch will fix the low quality textures, only a texture pack including higher resolution textures would fix that problem.

Drivers are not the problem with this game, the game is the problem with this game.

Between the first patch, the 11.10 drivers, and a few config tweaks, I'm having zero issues with the game. It's more than one should have to do, but it does the trick. I've got no artifacts, no pop-in, no blurry textures, etc. (though as mentioned, the textures aren't amazingly hi-res up close) Still though if you want to play this game, it's safe to do it now. And it's actually quite fun...

I agree 100%.

The game has run fine for me since day one.
The early configuration tweaks are/were basically the recent patch........see this thread: http://www./News/articles/how-to-unlock-rages-high-resolution-textures-with-a-few-simple-tweaks

The textures are still the problem, frankly they just suck.....not everything though, some of the game is just stunning, but what detracts from those parts are the just plain awful stuff right next to it.

It is maddening, however, that AMD still does not have a Crossfire profile for this game......thankfully my 1/2 6990 handles the game perfectly.

Bottom line, you can safely play this game now without any problems......unfortunately, all the corrections in the world won't fix the sorry textures, the core gameplay IS fun though.:D

Whoever releases a high res texture pack for Rage will be a hero. That game just needs a major overhaul. I fell in love with high res texture packs. Currently I'm in love with Stalker Complete with is a seriously overhauled stalker shadows of chenobyl game that looks current gen. I'm just blown away by the visuals in that game. Rage needs that team or another talented team to overhaul rage.

Or John Carmack can fix his currently tainted rep and fixing rage.

Besides high res textures, I wish they could add some dynamic lighting/ shadows and ambient occlusion as well. The lighting looks so static and it doesn't even use 30% of my 5850 while being lock at 60fps.

The game has been playable since day 1, and with Preview 2 and the patch the game has bee perfectly fine. Gameplay is great, graphics are disappointing for a 2011 Engine, but oh well.
