I had 3 medium yates on my RX360 but one needed replacing.
So I bought 3 new ones (adding two in push, can't fit 3 on this side) but they all make horrible bearing noise (the others make this too but it is barely noticeable).
So I've had enough with these fans and looking for alternatives.

What rad fans would you guys suggest in the 1500-1800 rpm range? They need to work at lower voltages as I like to run them near-silent (8-900 rpm or so) when not stressing the system.
As I'm getting 5 I'm not looking to spend big bucks, £20 for a 120mm fan is just silly.

I'm currently considering the enermax magma twisters but the only reviews I can find are not exactly professional.

EDIT: 4w maximum draw - all 5 will be hooked up to a single channel on my lamptron controller.
 
I hear good things about Gentle Thyphoons, not sure about your power draw though.

I have five on the way they should be here this week, i'll let you know when i get them if you arent in a hurry
 
GTs are definitely the best 25mm-thick rad fans, if you can find them in stock. According to their specs the AP-15s (1850RPM) only draw about 1w each at full power.
 
Gentle Typhoons are your best bet. However, putting all five fans on a single 4w controller is really pushing it.
 
Hmm, those GT's are fairly expensive but I could probably stretch to that if they are really good.
Oh the controller is 20w per channel, hence my limit of 4w per fan.
 
I'm also throwing a recommendation for the GT fans. Another thing you can try to do with your yates is pull off the sticker on the back and putting a bit of oil (silicon oil, sewing machine oil, motor oil) into the sleeve bearing. They might still be ok, but need oil.
 
I'll throw another vote for the GT's. I can't speak to the 1500 RMP range, but the I got the step below those (1031 RPM I think). My fan controller can get them up to 1300 RPM and I literally can't hear them. The box said they vibrate at a frequency human ears can't detect. I'm going to believe it because I don't hear them. Now that I've replaced all my case fans with GTs, the only thing I hear is my power supply.
 
I bit on the AP15's, they really are a nice fan at lower rpms. That said, they start to whine in push-pull on the RX360 at about 7v and by 12v this noise is incredibly obtrusive - this may be due to the proximity of the blades to the chassis roof (no space for a shroud so only a couple of mm clearance) as it is not the same pitched hum I've previously observed with push-pull setups. I put an old 38mm Sunon on the 120.1 instead - despite being a single fan pushing through a much denser rad, there is more airflow at max RPM and all you can hear is the whoosh of said air.

Fortunately temps are still fantastic with all the fans rotating below the noise level of my TX850 (which itself is virtually silent). CPU is hitting 59c under Prime95 (8c lower than the Megahalems with two 1350rpm Yates, which was quite noisy) and Furmark pushes the GTX580 (stock clocks) up to a whopping 40c :cool:
 
Yeah the GT's have gotten fairly hard to find tho. I lucked out and got 4 in the FS/FT forum bout 6 months ago for a good price. Best 40 bucks I've spent in a while, wasn't a believer till I hooked them up.

I've got them all voltage controlled off my mobo and spin up based on temps, they work really well.
