Should I stick with a stock XT? Or get one of the other ones like the Asus one?

I will have a water-cooling set-up for it.

I have been reading of numerous problems with the ASUS XT's I would avoid them. You can't go wrong with Sapphire, BBA or Hercules I would say.

Can they still be easily water-cooled though? Or do I have to take some extra off?

Well I have never done watercooling, but the BBA and Sapphire both use the reference heatsink, they are the exact same card so it won't matter which one you purchase.

I'd go with the Sapphire Radeon... I've read that it doesn't come with a coupon for Half-Life2 (though I got one when I got my 9800 XT), so just make sure you check if that's important to you.

my friend has the asus 9800 xt. no problems, very sweet, where have u been reading they have problems.
