I wasn't sure whether this would go under overlcocking or video card, but i figure i'd just post it here. I was recently looking to overclock my 9700 np (powercolor) and ran into a few problems. im using power strip, and whenever i touch the frequencies it wigs out. Even the littlest raise will cause the screen to distort as if it were overheating, but this shouldnt be the problem. This happens with even a small 10 mhz raise. Anyone know why it might be doing this?

becuase a) stock cooling sucks b)stock thermal paste sucks c)ati shim's suck or d)powercolor card suck

see howhot the gpu is and from there esses the situation!

Have you tried any other overclocking utilities besides Powerstrip?
Might give that a try. If you have already, make sure you don't have two installed at one time. I did that once and my card totally freaked!
