Radeon 9000 Question

I have a Radeon 9000 which came installed in the PC (Compaq 6470CA); it's about 3.5 years old. I just ordered a Dell 2407 monitor, but I'm a bit concerned as to whether the 9000 can handle the larger monitor.

Does anyone have any experience with this, or have any thoughts about it?

Your card's capable resolution certainly can go high enough. You'll have no problem getting the monitor to work. Depending on what you want to do with such a nice monitor though, your graphic card is a little dated. Good monitor choice!
 
...I figured I'd see how it works and then get a new card if I need it.

I forgot to mention use (which you did)...

No gaming, lots of typical PC work..browsing, word processing, spreadsheets, a retail planning system based on SQL Server, and a TON of Photoshop digital photo editing.

Because of the physical setup in my office, getting to, opening, and positioning the box to work inside is a real pain that I'd like to avoid if possible.

I'll post back once I get the monitor and see how it looks.

I wound up getting the Gateway 2485, since Dell delayed shipment on the 2407 and I got very pissed at them; at any rate, the old Radeon 9000 seems to be driving this monitor just fine. No gaming, just normal PC usage, including lots of Photoshop. I'm a happy camper.
