I have recently noticed that I have unconsiosly been collecting ATI cards. And need an 8500 128 to add to my growing collection :cool: I really want to find one that uses BGA ram modules as opposed to the ones that use TSOP ones. Here's my ATI collection from oldest to newest

Rage 128PRO 32mb

Radeon 256 VIVO(aka7200)64mb

Radeon 9500 Pro

Radeon 9600np

Radeon 9600Pro

Radeon 9700 Pro

Radeon 9800 Pro

And for ha has here's my nvidia collection

TNT2 16MB

Geforce 256 32mb

Geforce 2 GTS 32MB

Geforce 2 Pro 64MB

Geforce 3 64 MB

Wow, in retrospect I REALLY wasted a lot of money...dang:(

my parent's and sister's comps both still rock the 8500 ... that card is quite the trooper ... though the fans are dying on both of them :eek:

maybe post this in the sale/trade forum?

hrm i have a 8500LE in another system, it has TSOP ram and i need it for that system, oh well.

nice collection tho
 
Umm sure they existed, they aren't even rare. All of the BBA (Built by ATi) 128MB Radeon 8500 and 8500LE cards shipped with BGA modules instead of TSOP.

'Powered by ATi' cards were another matter entirely and many of those had TSOP memory for cost cutting reasons or whatever.
 
I have one, 8500LE BBA 250/250 128MB, in the retail box and everything. it is a good card an reach the 290/290 mark with no problems :)
I don't think you would buy that from me because living in brazil is to far away and knowing that it sells here for more than a 100 bucks, i wouldn't want to sell it to you, sorry ;)
But know that they exist and they are not rare. really not.
