If it works fine without problems thats a great buy.

The GTX 670 is gonna cost way more than $315. That's an excellent deal.

Both are excellent deals. 6950 can be made into a 6970 and was best price/performance card of last generation probably. 7950 can be made just as fast as 7970 at same clocks and is probably best card this generation.

Where you get deals like this?

gift cards and friends lol
if anyone wants them i can buy them for someone with $30 on top for the 7950 and 15 for the 6970?

Where? I'll but it if you don't. It's the best performance/$ GPU @ $380. $315 is a steal.

Couple things

it's same as 7970 when clocked the same
http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/graphics/34761-amd-hd-7950-vs-hd-7970-clocks/

Card comes way underclocked from factory - all will make 1000Mhz at least.

~1050 you're beating GTX 680s

~1200 you're tied with GTX 680 OC's all for $315? No brainer.

7950@1050 beating GTX 680s? You are smoking!
Please remind yourself that 7970@1250 is about GTX680 level.

I can probably get the 7950 shipped to someone for $350 and the radeon for 190

dont believe every review you see on the internet. Some people get paid to make hardware look good on paper. I own a 7950 and it is no where close to my 7970 at stock speeds even when its massivly overclocked. same manufacturer...

Human mind responds better to seeing facts, hexus posted those numbers. Unless you can post numbers who are we supposed to believe?

I think all the posts about 7950 being close to a 7970 clock for clock are true mainly because AMD has done this before. It was the 5850 vs the 5870. Almost no difference clock for clock, showed that there was a possible shader bottleneck somewhere. And it's not just hexus, look in the AMD 7950/7970 OC thread on OCN, a bunch of 7950's @ 1200Mhz are riding a 7970's ass at the same clocks by around 5%.

I'll get one with a waterblock here soon when the money comes and bench it vs. a 7970 to get my own numbers.

we know who is smoking. In fact I would like to know what you are smoking :D

Lets take a game Nvidia does well . Battlefield 3

(At 2560 x 1600 Ultra 4X MSAA HD 7970 OC (1280 Mhz) is 18% better than GTX 680 which runs at 1.1 Ghz turbo. At best the GTX 680 will draw even at 1.35 Ghz)

Lets take a few games Nvidia does not do well

MSI HD 7970 (1070) vs GTX 680 (1.1 Ghz turbo)

Alan Wake (20% at 1920, 30% faster at 2560)

Metro 2033 (16% at 1280, 23% at 1920, at 2560 both cards are unplayable)

its so obvious that you love Nvidia. I understand. But don't come in asking us to believe your horseshit.

lol you suffer from I paid more so it must be better disease. why would reviewers of same brand like 7950 vs 7970 say 7950 is just as good if they were paid by amd since it's in amd's intrest to sell same chip for 500 instead of 400? I've heard it all before as I beat stock $500 at the time 580s with my cheap 448, people don't want to admit they have paid more for nothing disease.

Check abletech they clock 7970 (which is same as 7950) @ 1050 and it bests 680 in half the games. so more or less even steven @ 1050. Why spend $500+ when you can get same for $370? Retarded?

Could you please post your 3dMark11 scores for each HD79XX card in your system with each card clocked at the same speeds? 1100mhz on the core would be nice to see the comparison.

:)

How do you know this?

Because the 680 is $500, there's no way a slightly cut down 680 is gonna retail for $185 less.

I reckon the 670 will be around $400 or slightly more, at stock clocks it will probably be quicker than a 7950.

for so many so called tech geeks on this site some of you are clueless.I have had both 7950 and 7970 and i have run extensive tests on both cards clock for clock and there is only an average of 2-3 fps difference. So please spread your misimformation elsewhere thanks...
