R520 vs G70 interesting read

I dont get why people think this is intersting. ATI's architecture allows for higher speeds, Nvidias allows it to do more. Putting them on equal ground is just...stupid. They arent designed to be.

Exactly my thoughts. Rediculous comparison IMHO. :p

This is interesting to a lot of people, myself included, because it shows that ATi's architecture is not more efficient at running most games...so looking forward to nVidia's 90nm part and ATi's 24ps part...this suggest nvidia might have the upper hand...

Personally I thought it was pretty neat...

What it shows is both cores have different design principles. Does it make either one better? Not really as long as the IQ and speed is good.

I think we will see more about who's design is better when we see more games take advantage of SM3.0 and begin to really use it.

well yeah, it is interesting in the fact that the two cores are built for two different modes of processing graphics.

I don't really expect SM3.0 to become a bottleneck any time soon...

It doesnt suggest that in the least bit. Lets look at the "efficiency" of HDR rendering...
