Well my new computer is set up and I'm going through the painful process of getting all my software and network to run properly but at least I have a new pc :D. I am quite pleased with it except it is rather loud. So I look to the members of hardocp for advice on how to quiet this beast down. Here are the parts that I have in this bad boy:

case: enermax cs800
http://www.maxpoint.com/products/pccase/spec_pg/cs800/index.htm
processor: amd64 3200+
video card: ati radeon 256mb 9800 or 9800 pro
hdd: maxtor 120gb sata 8mb cache
2nd hdd: seagate 40gb ata
motherboard: asus kbn deluxe http://usa.asus.com/products/mb/socket754/k8n-e_d/overview.htm

Any and all suggestions appreciated.

we need to know whats running loud, the heatsink fan, the power supply or the internal cooling fans?

to make your case silent do the following:

Buy Case Pading
Buy Hard Drive Silencer
Get A Fan Control To Change The Speed Of The Fans For Quietness [They Also Have Fans Out That Adjust To The Case Temp]
Buy A Silent PSU (Antec Makes A Great One)

Or Simply Get A Water Cooler

Well I dunno what is loud to be honest, i was hoping by stating the possibilities someone would know what products are notoriously louad.

At the moment I am planning on looking into whispermat for my case's interior at www.muffledcomputing.com as well as possibly a muffler for my psu. I've heard great things about enermax's psu's and would prefer not to spend more on another. My case already provides a fan control that I have turned to the lowest setting, I do not think the fans are the cause of noise.

I am not familiar with water cooler or hard drive silencers.
