im looking for a quiet psu that has around 400-500 watts (can have 380 if its significantly cheaper) and is less than 100 bux and possibly around 80, it being modular would also be a big plus but modular psus are expensive. psu has to be of quality :)

btw quiet is <20-25dba

thanks, looking at those corsairs, not sure if they are quiet though.

as for the antec, it is not quiet, right now its the loudest thing in my build, everything else is below 20dba, i have the earthwatts 380

I don't know, but I can tell you that fan ratings are meaningless. At any rate, like I said, it's completely inaudible at moderate loads. As far as PSUs go, you really can't do any better in that regard.

alright well the hx is complettely out of my price range, but im assuming they have the same fans on all of the psus, so ill definitely check out the lower end models.

Yeah, I was just using mine as an example. All of their models are very quiet, the Seasonic ones more so (everything except for the TX750 and HX1000).
