Quickie RAID drive selection question

I'm going to put together a second RAID array for my file server.

I have two Seagate 160 gig PATA drives that I will use. Plus I want to add 2 more for a RAID 5 array.

I have one other Seagate 160 gig drive that I was thinking of using. The thing is, is that it's the 8mb cache version whereas the other two are the 2mb cache version.

Experience is telling me to buy two more of the 2mb cache drive and be done with it.

But will the diffrence in cache size really make that much of a difference? Will it hose up the array?

I planning on buying one of the Promise card that has 64mb of cache built in if that makes a difference.
 
As long as the drives are the same rotation speed and close to the same access time it wont make much difference. It won't hurt anything if they're slightly mismatched.
 
Just make sure the drives you're adding are the same size, or slightly larger if you're just adding them to an exsisting array.
 
They are all Seagate 160 gig drives of the same series. Just the one has 8mb cache.

eh, you can do it with drives from other manufacturers, it's not recommened, which I assumed was a given.
