Hey all,

I have a friend who is looking to by a new system in the next week or so. I've offered to help him build one, but he's not ready for that leap. He doesn't want to spend alot of money ~$600 and insists on going the prepackaged route. Any recommendations for an online retailer that uses good components but is cheaper than Dell or HP?

Thanks much,
SC

Your not going to find cheaper than a Dell of HP at that price level, simple because of buying power. We can buy parts cheaper for the low end machines than other OEMs, so that's why we can afford to sell computers in the $400-$500 price range.

Dell is prob one of the (sad to say) better online retailers..... For the money. I would just say build one yourself.
