Hey I am very interested in buying the shuttle barebones computer because it is so small and perfect for my situation in college at the moment. I don't really play any games except for maybe the occasional Counter-Strike or UT2K4 so I don't think I need a A64 system as of yet.
Here are the parts I was planning to buy
-- SN41G2V2B
-- AMD Athlon 2500+
-- 1GB OCZ EB
-- GeForce 6600GT (Whenever it would come out for AGP, Using an old Ti-4200 until then.)
-- 160GB WD Hard Drive
This sytem looks great for me at the moment except some questions have been bothering me for quite a while. I've heard of many people buying "Mobile" processors that ran alot cooler at stock and had usually had a very good overclock. Problem is the Mobile processors say they run at 400FSB while the Shuttle only lists 333FSB as the max? Is there a new BIOS that would enable 400FSB on the motherboard thus allowing me to purchase a 2400+ Mobile or something of the sort?
