Can I plug my SATA 150 HDD into a SATA2 input? And will it work...

Same drives that are in my sig

yes, and yes. You can even plug them into an SAS port if you wanted.

I think it's a great feature of SAS controllers... But keep in mind, you can't plug a SAS drive into a SATA controller even though the reverse is possible.
