Quick question regarding new setup

I just bought this setup for my aging backup computer:

  • ASRock P55 Extreme
  • Intel Xeon X3440
I'll be using a single DVD burner, 1TB HDD, 8400 GS, and a few case fans.

Now the existing PSU is a FSP Blue Storm II 400W.

I believe it should work but I will want to overclock the Xeon so I am unsure whether this PSU will have enough juice to power everything.

---------

Now my parents have an E8400 @ 4GHz, Asus P5Q Pro, 250GB HDD, OCZ 30GB Agility SSD, DVD burner, and a Asus 8800GS. It is powered by a Corsair HX620.

I could take the 8800GS (since they don't game) and use that and give them my 8400GS. I could replace my FSP power supply with their existing Corsair.

And that should leave me with plenty of power down the road in case I ever want to upgrade the GPU.

So what do you think?

Yeah, that's a no brainer. If your parents don't use the computer for anything but minor tasks, it looks pretty overpowered.

Awesome, thanks for the help guys.

I'll probably have to swap cases as well. Need as much extra cooling as possible. :)
