Quick question, installing new PSU

Stupid question, but when installing a new power supply, does the fan side supposed to be on top, or fan facing bottom side ?

It depends on the case that you're installing the PSU in. If your case's PSU mount is at the top, or if the case has a bottom PSU mount and ventilation holes in the PSU area at the bottom panel, then install the PSU so that the fan faces the bottom. However, if you have a case with a bottom PSU mount and lacks both ventilation holes and sufficient clearance between the PSU and the bottom panel of the case (the Antec 900 case is one such example), or if you have a case with a bottom PSU mount and ventilation holes in the PSU area at the case's bottom panel and you intend to place that case on a carpet, then install the PSU so that the fan faces upward.

I understand E4g1e's response and I've been trying to read all the other threads on this subject but still have some unanswered questions.

I plan on having 3x 140mm intake fans and only 1x 140mm exhaust fan, so I'll have a positive pressure setup, at least to a degree. See sig for rig specs.

How will a positive air flow case affect the best PSU mounting position? When I'm not gaming and drawing a lot less power would the case fans cool the PSU enough to prevent the PSU fan from coming on at all?

Thanks in advance for any help suggestions.
