quick psu recommend

before psu this is my rig
evga 7900gs
core 2 duo e6300
1 gig ram (2x512mb)
80gig primary ide
2 x 120gig slave ide
300gig sata
320gig sata
cd/dvdrom


most of the time im running only 2 hard drives on the system with a 500w psu
that sufficient?

Quality 500-550w psu for the sake of not having to replace it if you buy a new video card.

Any of these would work, the 450 would just be less power (obviously!)

Eithor of these is you best bet for your current system. I ran a Q6600 and a 9600gt with the ea380. I would lean more to the 400cx and its a newer design and $30 AR.

That is one of the crappest psu makers out there. You really need to get that out of you system asap.

Even the gurus at newegg (FWIW) says thier not reccomened.

That PSU is crap, and no, you don't need anywhere near 600W for your system. 300W would be a more accurate estimate.

Any of the PSUs recommended above would be plenty for your system, although you really don't need anything more than the Corsair CX400 or the Antec Earthwatts 380W.
