quick: I need some help with MS word

I think it might be Word 2k7. My problem is that I need to know how to number pages. I need to need to page three on MS Word number page one because I need to create a table of contents (basically I want to control what page I want number one)

I tried the header and footer and it doesn't work. How can I do this?

Format Page Number in the header (or footer) after you insert it.

What didn't work, your ability to insert section breaks? If you need help beyond that, press F1 and search for section break.
