Im building a new Rig and today i returned my PS3 and got 332 dollars back. I bought an antec 300 for 59.99 there and a Corsair 750TX. Now here comes the stupid ?

How do I mount the PSU. Do I mount the PSU with the Fan Down on the bottom wich there is a gap for it to breath or do i mount it with the Fan Facing Up towerds the GPU's

also the case came with a Top Fan and a Rear fan but NO fans upfront or on the Side of the case. I have x1 120mm yate loon high speed I can mount in 1 of the 3 available spaces. Where will the 120MM yate loon serve the Best. On the side of the Case or in one of the front slots. I do plan on getting 2 more very soon but for now where will it serve the best
 
You want to mount the PSU fan down. Mount the 120mm not in the lowest front bay, but the next one up.

Mounting it down is definitely preferable. However, if you are going to have the case in a place were it won't get ventilation below it (on carpet for example) then facing down is a bad idea as it won't be able to pull any air.
 
If you mount it face up be sure you cover the fan grill with something so you don't accidentally drop a screw into the psu.

Personally fan down works better IMO because the cables are then on the far side and are easier to route to the "gap" behind the 5.25" bays.
 
Antec 300 doesn't have an intake hole for the PSU. There's a lot of back and forth on the subject. since there isn't much space there. I had mine mounted with the fan up, and ended up cutting out an intake hole, blocking it off with foam, and mounting the PSU fan-down.

In concept, mounting the fan down will draw in cooler air, but if you only have one intake fan in the front, there may not be adequate airflow to that part of the case to make a difference. Add to that the what, centimeter and a half space, and it may not work well for you.

Only way you'll be able to tell for your particular situation is to measure the air temperature of the PSU exhaust in both setups. Grab a thermometer if there's one around, or a cheap one at the grocery store/cvs. Fire up Prime95 or something else that stresses your system.
 
yeah i didnt mean an intake Hole i meant there is a good amount of space Under the PSU when mounted. I didnt know if it was enough so i mounted the PSU upside down with the fan facing up. im going to change it to the fan facing down here soon.
