I have a NZXT Guardian case and, as you can see from the picture it has a PurpleBox with 2 80mm fans as exhaust. The thing with this is it leaves about an inch and a half between the case and the CPU HSF. I wanted to know if this inch and a half is clearence enough for an aftermarket HSF... E.G. an Ninja, or Typhoon or a Zalman CNPS9500...

I'll post a pic of where my HSF is now. If it will help.

Bump from school. Noone has any input? With about and inch of clearence be any good if its infront of my exhaust fans?

Personally I would remove that thing and mount the fans directly to the case...is that possible? If not then something like the Thermalright XP-90 or the new Zalman low profile cooler should work fine with that.

What he said! get rid of the purple box and mount the fans directly onto the wall of teh case.

The primary fan holes are already cut, so all you would need to do is drill out some screw holes (if they aren’t already there) for mounting.

Can't put the fans on the case. The case is stepped so that, towards the outside, it is raised and going back, it is depressed. Thus, the box is the only way to have the fans there.

Seems like a bad design thingy too me... But Ill look at those HSF's
