Question regarding disk sizes when rebuilding an array

I've got a computer with 2 x Seagate 120GB SATA (7200/8mb) drives in Raid-1 on the built-in nVidia raid controller (ABIT NF8-V I believe). One of the drives just died on me (click/grinding sound of death) so I unplugged it & the system boots just fine. My question is: do I have to get another 120 GB drive (preferably same make/model), or could I get a bigger drive of similar make, such as a 200GB 7200/8mb SATA Seagate? I know the array would still be able so see only 120 GB, but would that work? It's a client of mine's computer from back when I built computers for people, and I'd prefer to not have to transfer everything from the 120 to a new array...

*edit: also, if this works, would the array re-build itself, or what would I have to do?

You can use different drives, however the performance would be limited by the slowest drive.
To rebuild the array you will have to either go into the RAID bios (CTRL+<some letter depending upon the controller) or use the GUI tool to mark the new drive as hot-spare or array member.

Thanks! That's what I remembered to be true, but it's always good to post a quick Q&A on the [H] :)
