Question on Intel Q6700

Hi, I am probably going to upgrade from a AMD x2 6000+ 3ghz to an Intel Q6700 and overclcok to 3.2ghz.

is the Quad core overall much faster than the AMD? I do alot of gaming, video editing with adobe products photo editing etc, like anything that requires alot of power, I do it.

Keep in mind too that I am not paying $500 for the Q6700 only $280
