Hey guys,

So I just had to build a 690 setup and went with an i9 12900K processor. I'm running a 150i cooler from corsair. Ambient temps are fine for the cores, under 30 across the board. I broke out a damn old game. LOTR middle earth 2 and it will beat on 2 cores kicking the fans into overdrive running around 48-52C

I've also noticed even just downloading large files will now kick the cooler on and this really surprised me. Is this normal for these new processors?

I had a 11th gen i7/590 board on my last setup and the only time I remember it kicking on the afterburners for the fans was when I was running hand brake. (same cooler)
