question for people using creative mediasource software

ok i just got a nomad zen extra. i installed their software and transferred my music to the mp3 player, then later i opened winamp on my pc, and saw that a bunch of songs now had the artist name <unknown>. over a thousand of my tracks are now titled this, because the creative mediasource software re-titles tracks it doesnt have the info for. this even happened to tracks that had both the artist and track name. i have no clue what to do to set them back to normal short of going back into the id3 tags for all of them and manually re-naming them, which would be a huge waste of time.

any suggestions?-thanks
