Question about UD Stats

I have been a little confused here of late. (I know....save it Marty. ;) )

I was looking at my UD stats this morning and it reminded me to ask about this. Why is there a difference on what Grid.org shows as your score...

and what the program shows as your score...and even this isn't true across all of my machines....they all read something different.

Any insight? Am I missing something?
 
I've noticed the same thing on my stats pages as well.

I'm not sure, but ever since the problems they had with the DB going down, no one is reporting my stats the same way, and I only have one box on it.

 
And just to get King's panties in a bunch... :p
Hardfolding reports something different. I assume that this has something to do with how often the stats update....no biggie. Just thought I'd throw this into the mix as well.
 
The answer for this with regards to F@H is the update sites (hf.com) are always behind the offical stats sites (can only crawl every 3 hours or what not).

Having the "offical program" and the "offical stats site" be off, no clue.
 
Maybe it's a problem like Stanford and the "Lost WU" thing?

maybe each box is taking total points + estimated points for current WU on the machine = total?

I don't think that UD counts points that way...and in my offline discussion with p[H], this didn't happen before the Stats mess a few months ago.
 
Ok the way UD works is simple.

1) UD Member stats(pages) are updated 1 time a day, so until the stats are run on thier side there will be a different score listed between client and the stats..
2) Each client upon completion of a unit updates the overall score(internal database)
3) The client doesn't update the client's score until it sends in a unit.
4) Unless they changed the time that they run the stats hardfolding should be accurate.

My stats difference is 20,000 points though... :eek:

HF.com is off by about 4K if I remember corectly.

[edit]And just to be clear, I am not bashing your stats keeping, King...just raising some questions in the inconsistancy I have been seeing. [/edit]

Just stumbled onto this on the official grid.org forums. Seems that you're grid.org userpage is always right.

Edit: Also, if you check the other posts in that forum, there is mention of some issues with the team stats, so it still seems like there's a glitch here and there.
 
Yes there is a glitch when viewing team stats, which is why the UD stats haven't been upgraded, basically when viewing the stats pages on occasion you will run across an error, "this page isn't available at this time, please try back later.", if you run across this when browsing the site it's as easy to fix as a simple browser refresh, however when it comes to the mining script it will error it out every time.

They must have changed the stats run time, I currently have it set to collect at 1am, perhaps I'll move it to 3am and see if that fixes it.

That might have been before you were around this last time. I won the Horde UD race thingy (MVP!!!)

Only thing pH has let be cheat at and get away with it.
