I was wondering ... Am i supposed to check or uncheck the No Affinity box in StressPrime 2004? Also what is no affinity mean? TIA

Depends. Single core or dual core? If dual, uncheck it.

To test stability, use the custom test, and in the window that pops up, set Min FFTs to 8k and max to 4096k, then uncheck "Run FFTs in place" and for memory, set it to around 200MB less than actual RAM, e.g. if you have 1024MB of RAM, set it to ~800MB. If you have a dual core CPU, split it between the two instances of SP2004. This keeps it from using the page file, and tests both RAM and CPU. Run for 24 hours or more.

Thanks for the detailed reply, GML

It's dual core, opty 165.

Also the last option in custom test... "Time to run each FFT size (in minutes)" ...should i leave it at 15 minutes?

Yes, 15 minutes.

Dual core? I'm assuming you put a copy of SP2004.exe in two seperate folders and running two instances of it, one from each?

If you have 1GB of RAM, set each instance to use 400MB of RAM. If you have 2GB of RAM, set it to 800MB each.

Also, for one of the instances, select CPU1 in the drop down menu, and leave the other at CPU0.

hmm... i clicked on it twice, so 2 boxes pop up, and i customized each one. Is that the wrong way?

Ok, i have 2 gb so i'll put 800mb in each.
