Question about some barbs

1/2 OD barbs = 1/2 ID tubing, which should be normal, the actual NPT threading, where the block connects to the barb is probably pretty big... a straight through config (straight barb, no size change) is actually 1/4" NPT, anything larger than that shouldn't really give you that much resistance. and mass flow isn't always necessary for a setup that performs well.
 
I think I'm gonna go to the hardware store and buy a couple of 3/4" hose barbs. This should increase my performance greatly as they will have a 1/2"ID. My entire setup is going to run with 1/2" flow on 3/4" tubing...
