Question about Setup with 2 Radiators

My idea for my water pump setup is rad#1 -> pump -> cpu -> rad#2 -> dual gpu -> and then back to rad#1 . Radiator #1 would be a Black Ice Xtreme II and my Radiator #2 is a Black Ice Xtreme #1. I was wondering what pump would be strong enough to pump through the complete loop, as well I was also wondering if there would be better radiators to use. I plan on either using the Danger Den Dual Geforce 6800 or the AC solution. All comments and advice are appreciated.

The standard Aquastream will do that without any problem. However some people are putting dual GPU's on a separate loop to help isolate them from the rest of the circuit. The reason being that the temp of all components eventually rises to a common temp. Now I would imagine that might be mitigated to a certain extent by the use of dual radiators as in your current plan. Actually that is my plan as well for the time being to assess that idea. If it turns out that the GPU's are creating more temp then it is easy to switch to a dual loop system if you got two (2) separate radiators. :D

BTW, you will be a lot happier with the A-C AquagraFX 68800 rev 2 solution than the Danger Den NV-68 IMHO. Or a standard A-C TwinPlex would do well if you aren't hung up on cooling the ram as well.

Thanks, I like the specs on that pump. I'm trying to find out the noise that that perticular pump outputs. I'm trying to find a low noise system. I'm also not sure if I would have a big enough case to fit two pumps. I also have another question that came to mind. I have a thermaltake Armor Aluminum Case (the new one) and im trying to figure out a good setup for the two radiators at the time. My old case fit the Black Ice Xtreme II easily, but im not sure exactly where im going to put this radiator and still have optimum air flow through it. If anyone has any experience with this case and water cooling I'd love to hear some suggestions. Thanks for all your guys help.

The Aquastream pump puts out essentially no noise. Most people often have a hard time telling if it is even running as you can't hear it. You have to look at your Aquajet or your temps to see what is going on. It's about the quietest pump out there and also has the ability to almost double flow if you have the Aquaero. :D

I would love to see some numbers of temperatures or maybe a full indepth review of both of those two GPU coolers. However, I really like the clean design of danger dens DUAL 6800 setup. I'm not even sure if the A-C AquagraFX 68800 will even fit with two GPUs, even if it did I think they extra tubbing might look alittle ugly. But I haven't found any reviews or even anyone that has tried the AC solution on dual GPUs.

Just to update, I am going with a WhiteWater CPU cooler and am still undecided on the GPU coolers (plural), and have found a great place for the Black Ice Xtreme II near the front of my thermaltake armor case.

If youre cooling a cpu & sli gts/ultras, youre gonne need a more powerful pump than an Aquastream, ecpecially with 2 rads. A very good choice in that case is a Laing DDC aka DD-DDC/Swiftech MCP350, a pump about the size of a 60mm fan, and pretty quiet as well. In general, if you have a 1/2" cpu block, then it makes the most sense for everything else to be 1/2", as 1/4" components will severely restrict flow for the rest of the 1/2" system.

If you dont feel like getting a single DDC, you could run two loops, and then a single 1046 would work for each loop, just not as well as more powerful, higher flow pumps.

Well perhaps you may soon. As far as the dual A-C AquagraFX solution goes please just look around as there are lots of people that use these coolers.

Now how my young friend would you know that? Have you ever used an A-C or similar setup with an Aquastream pump?

I'm constantly amazed at how many people pooh pah A-C gear that have never tried anything like it. Now I will say right up front that I have never ran BIB water cooling equipment. My first gear was a Koolance EXOS that used little tiny pumps and 6mm ID tubing. Lot's of people told me that they didn't work and that the only thing that would was a BIB unit. Well I have to say that my OC's, system stability, and quiet computing were not that far off from any other people using BIB equipment. Some people got worse results and some got better, but I really don't think it was related to the water cooling equipment used.

Now on the other hand there are a great many people around this forum that use Aqua Computer gear that have used BIB water cooling systems in the past. Now if you want an honest unbiased opinion as to whether this stuff works the way we say it does then ask them.

BTW, the WW cooler is a good choice! There are lots of good choices around here and you have to just decide what particular set of parameters that make sense to you and go for it. :D

well i took a good couple hours reading reviews on pumps and it seems like most of them are equally quiet. So as I am trying to keep a 1/2" system, i was thinking about the larger swiftech pump or a polarflo pump. I havent found much on this site about the polarflo pumps, and was wondering what you guys thought about them. Agian, I want to thank you all for your help, all your input is helping, A LOT!

I have two rads in my system an AC 240 & 160 and I cool the cpu, nb and 2 gpu's all AC gear including one Aquastream. After cleaning the system twice and a bit of tweaking my temps have not gone above 40.

im wondering if anyone has any reviews or thoughts about the polarflo pumps ?
