Question about refresh rates

I have a Viewsonic A90f+ 19" CRT that I want to run in 1600x1200 in Windows. I currently have the refresh rate set to 70 hertz, but the specs page on Viewsonic's website states it can do a maximum of 68hz @1600x1200. Will my monitor be damaged over time if I leave the refresh rate at 70hz with this resolution? I currently have it set to that, it appears to be fine, but I don't want to take a chance with leaving it that way and damaging my monitor.
 
I don't see how it can do 70 if it caps at 68. Maybe it just appears that it's at 70 but it's really still performing at 68. I always check the box to hide options that aren't supported. If it's really performing at 70, then I'd knock it down to 68 'cause the difference can't be too noticeable. But I'm no monitor expert. Perhaps it wouldn't damage it.
 
Doubtful... I have an A70F+ and if I turn the refresh up out of spec (IE 1280x1024 @ 70hz it'll just pop a little box up at me saying out of range until windows switches back to 60hz (maximum refresh). Most likely that 70hz number is being rounded and your monitor can in fact support what it is putting out. If you want to be sure about this go into the information menu on your monitor and see what the verticle refresh rate is and if it's close to 68hz you'll be ok I would think.
