question about receiver and speaker?

speaker rating 100 watts in 8 Ohm is pretty standard so this should work with any receiver

I honestly think that when it comes to A/V, Sony is only noteworthy for the Video part of that, and even then, really only in the high-end segment...

That aside, yeah it'll work. Get some decent speaker-wire to connect 'em with though. Binding posts on both ends, so you know the drill, cut to size, strip, tie in.

Make sure you note which side is which though. The speaker wire hopefully will have the wire specs written on only one side of it, so go ahead and line that up on both ends. (I usually do Red/Positive with the writing side).

You can put any 8 ohm speaker (actually any resistance as well) but you may start fatiguing your amplifier and eventually it'll stop working.

As far as those satellite speakers.... they all suck. Eventhough the frequency response is a huge range they just can't put out GOOD sounding frequencies below like 10K. It's simple physics. A 2" driver just can't create the big waves that make the sound feel loud.

Those type of speakers are loud... not powerful (even at 110W).

Spend you money on 2 speakers like this (I have them and they are AMAZING)

notice the range ends at 20K while the speakers you were looking at went up to 50K... human ears really can't hear sounds above 20K... so it's wasted energy. Same goes for low end... you go sub sonic below like 100 Hz so why have your amp power wasted?

As far as surround speakers... satellites are great, they are really just there for effect not the main audio. Also a good powerful center channel (in the same line I quoted from JBL) is a good choice.

Everyone who buys satellite speakers regret it over time when they notice the sound is just loud and tinny. If you were to listen to my setup you'd have a pair of these in a cart right now with your credit card out and drool hanging from your mouth.
