Question about monster APC UPS...

... while maybe its not a "monster", its fairly big. It plugs into a 30amp circuit with a dryer type plug. Its a APC:

Problem: Customer requested this UPS without first realizing that they didnt have an available circuit to plug it into.

Solution: Either get an electrician to put in the necessary wiring/circuit or ???

I called APC and the tech support guy mentioned it could be ran over two standard 15-20 amp circuits but thats obviously something we would have to get an electrician to wire up as well. He also said we could run the UPS off of ONE standard 15-20amp circuit but it wouldnt operate at its correct level. Im afraid if we run it off of one plug that it would end up melting the wiring.

Im new to big UPS equipment and electric stuff like this... thoughts? :D
 
Have the correct circuit installed by an electrician. Stayonline does carry an adapter but I would not recommend using it.
 
Thats what I was thinking, but they are insisting on using an adapter because all of the equipment they have now is currently running off of one 15/20 amp circuit (the UPS is overkill) so they dont think the bigger one is needed.

Maybe Ill have to punch them in the ovaries to make them believe. ;)

To have that installed is at least a couple hundred right? I think they might have been concerned about price... but at that point they probably shouldnt have bought a $1300 UPS.

Well if they want to use it just tell them that everything will run fine off of one 30A circuit and they can use their shiny new UPS now ;)

Depends on a lot of things but yeah. New breaker, new wiring, new outlet.
