Hi, I currently have a dual monitor setup, my primary monitor is set up on the AGP with a Geforce4 Ti4800, and my secondary is on a second PCI MX Geforce2 400. I am planning on getting a BFG 6800GT next month when i get my tax refund, and had a question about performance. If i hook both monitors up to the one card, does it hurt peformance?

No, yes, and no.

No, it doesn't hurt regular 2D performance.

Yes, two monitors will hurt 3D gaming performance, even though you only see the game on your primary display.

No, it doesn't matter because you should always disable your secondary display before playing a game in order to get optimal performance.

In the real world, you wouldn't notice a thing in a game like BF:1942, but you'd be swearing up and down at Doom3.

The 6800GT to drive two displays is a fine solution, and much cleaner than running a second card for the secondary display. I'd say go for it.

great, so as long as i disable the second monitor before gamming, i should be good. thanks
