Question about Dell 2001FP

Howdy all, long time lurker first time poster.

I've recently built another gaming rig (X2 3800+, 1gig DDR400, dual bfg 6800GT OC) and I'm now looking into monitors. I currently have some Sun Microsystems 18" monitor (got it on eBay for $10, works fantastic.)

My budget is around $550-$650 (but if there is something slightly above this @ a huge performance increase, my ears are open).

Now, I've noticed dell has the 2001FP 20.1" for sale for $525 so I was wondering if this would be a good choice for an LCD gaming monitor. I've heard talk about the 2405FPW monitors, but they are $700.

My questions are:
Is the performance increase equal to a $170 price jump?
Will I notice any annoying blur while playing FPS (Battlefield 2, COD2, Quake4, etc)?

I appreciate any information!

If you can get the Dell 2405FP for $700 buy it heck buy 2 or 3. If not the Dell 2001FP is ok if its $460.00 or less anything more your getting a little pricey because of its tech age the monitor has been around for a while.

100% Correct ...The black levels suffer greatly because of its low 400:1 ratio.. I ended up sending mine back to Dell...unless you dont mind your games having a milky grey backrounds like this
