Question about Computer psu usage

So my question is when my computer is idle the killawatt meter that i have plugged into my wall (dual monitors 22" ,17", and my computer) uses about 190 watts which i assume is normal. My question is when i go into full load playing crysis or other gpu/cpu intensive games it only goes up to about 350 watts which makes no sense so me because my cpu, video card, and main monitor are supposed to use 325 watts alone. What i want to know is if i have to configured right and if so how my power usage is so low. I have a 500 watt OCZ ModXStream Pro.

1) Kill-A-Watts are inaccurate
2) It would help to know what components you are running.

The first thing to do is to use the KAW on one thing at a time, not the whole power strip, so you have some idea of what's the idle baseline on the computer. Next, use a video stress test to determine how much power is being used under load. When a typical stress test is being run the load on the card is pretty constant, unlike actual game play. This is important when using a KAW, because it won't display short peaks, or determine average power load.

I suspect that you should see a load difference between idle and full load of a bit over 100w. If the change is much less than that, then something is preventing the CPU and/or the GPU from going into their low power idle state.

@hoofan_1 i have all my parts listed in my signature.
@blivit4 ok ill try running just my computer on it. and my idle is going ot be about 25 higher than normal because when my card drops to its advertised idle speed it becomes unstable. and would unigine heaven be a good video stress test?

I' ve used this stress test on a number of boxes. It loads the video about the same as ATI Tool, is small and doesn't mess with system settings. Just make sure you exit the program when you're done. So long as it's open it keeps the video card busy.
