Hi, I recently upgraded to a sandybridge rig and decided to keep my phenom PC as a second. I used a crappy case that I set on top of my dog's metal kennel in my bedroom. I left the sides open on the case. The only thing different about this computer from when I used it regularly with no problems is the power supply and hardrive.
After a fresh install, I kept getting a BSOD error (mainly when i would start a game, or application). I think my case/powersupply was not properly grounded? Is that a possibility? I actually got shocked once while the PC was running when I touched one of the upper braces of the case.
I secured my case better and put it on a board instead of the wire kennel, also I put the sides on, and it seems to be better. I do not know if it is a coincidence, was that the issue?
phenom 955, asus M4A79XTD EVO, 4gb Gskill ripjaws, OCZ 550w fatal1ty, radeon 5850, Windows 7 64bit
Thanks
