For the next case that I want to do, it will have a window. However, I have always used that tubing that locks in in the past, and it is black, and I always thought it looked slightly tacky. What are some other ways that I could attach a window to the side? Anyone have any feedback on spraypainting the tubing?

I would like some tips on this as well...I always thought that black trim kinda looked tacky too...

Some suggestions here would sure be nice (i.e. What kind of plexi? thickness? adhesive? rivets? etc...)

I did it once with some contact cement. It works but it's not the cleanest.

I used some Double sided tape on my last window. I like it you just have to be sure you file down the metal edges so they look nice and clean.

Other people probably have better idea's.

If the window can be permanent and dont mind about the inside of the panel, then you can always use epoxy. Seems to work fine for me, keep its tight on there, no outside rivets or bolts showing.

I also did one with bolts once, didnt work out GREAT but it atleast kept the window on there.

Hmmm...rivets could work, I dont mind them showing on the outside, but I have never used them for anything before.

i hope to use bolts in my next mod, i just am worried that the bolts will rotate and scratch the paint on my case, a word of warning on the rivets though, i broke my window when i used rivets cause i squeezed to hard and it lookd pretty bad with a crack in it

For my jungle case I used military spec allen bolts, came out pretty good. My next one Im thinking about finding some black anodized allen bolts and actually thread the plexi so the bolt holds it in place. Risky yes, but damnit I want to try :D

Now they do make that window molding that is clear, and people have been using those thin el tapes to use as the locking strip, effectively lighting up the molding. That might look cool. I was thinking about do that, but short on case :)

round head screws look ok also

if you want it to look good the most important thing would probably be to make a very clean cut, since the molding wont be there to hide your screwups ;)

For my case a buddy of mine that works at a car bodyshop gave me a roll of double sided tape that they use to hold in the windshields of cars. It has never came off yet 3 years strong.
