If vsync is turned on, does any of this matter? If my goal is locked in 60fps with vsync @ 1200p, am I better off with a Titan or 680SLI?
 
Vsync causes other problems of it's own, namely latency which causes an odd sensation between the movement of the mouse and the movement of your character in the screen.

When playing online FPS vsync is best avoided.
 
Input lag can be diminished with vsync and frame limiter to refresh rate -1 or -2 for a kind of "best of both worlds".

Get MSI Afterburner for the frame limit option.
