Question about a Kingwin case

what are the connecting plug things make out of? If they are plastic you might be able to just yank em off with some pliers.

From what I've read you can pop the black things off without too much trouble. How do u like the case besides the fan problem? I was thinking of getting the same one

Yeah, it shouldn't be too difficult. I just don't want to scratch the case doin' it. I haven't put a system in the case yet, but I've had it sitting on my desk for the day, and from looking at it, it's a beautiful case. I'm very pleased with how it looks. The only thing I've found odd is the fact that the window is mounted on the outside of the side panel. That's something that I haven't seen before and at first, I thought it was horrible. But it's really starting to grow on me. I am very impressed with the quality for the price, and look forward to modding it a bit and putting my system in there. If you have any specific questions or would like to me take some pictures, just let me know, I'd be more than happy to.

I too want this case. If I remember correctly Toms Hardware featured this case in one of their summer reviews and they commented on the exterior mounted window. It is possibe to mount it on the inside, but Toms liked it better the way it was.

BTW if you dont mind me asking, were did you order from? How much did it cost? How long was shipping? I want to buy one too if you cant tell :D

EDIT: Pics would be great!

Your links dont work. but is this the case you have ? If so i can help you, i have replaced all the fans in the case.

EDIT: Here is a front shot

EDIT2: My work network tags that as adult content. wont show it :(

Those plastic things are actually two pieces, one inside the other. You pull out the outer piece first, and the inside piece is then removable. It's a "tool-less" fan screw. I dont know how to explain it better, but it's easy, use your fingernails to just tug the outer piece off.

I got it from Newegg for $100 shipped. I live in Oregon, so it made it here in two days with regular ground. Pretty good deal I think. Yeah, some networks will think that's adult content because of the domain name. We just thought it was funny...

I'll take pics of the case when I get out of my class today. Already missed one out of two, damn my bed for being so comfortable!

another thing that works for me on the plastic screws is to use a paper clip and to apply pressure to the very center - that's where the middle part is, and it will just pop out if you do it right. be careful not to slip :)

I think I did that at first, and then realized I could just pick it out with my fingers... or maybe it was the other way around  LOL

Pics would be nice. I think I'm getting the one without the window. It seems to be more expensive though... lol

I'd get the one with the window just because it's a window... lol

Anyway it is an awesome case, I really like the rubber grommets on the hard drive bays... Only thing I don't like about the case is that the inside isn't black, but no biggie... still a sweet box.

Here are some pics:

Let me know about anything in particular you want pics of...

Hey Maximus, one request, can you get a shot of the top of the front bezel? You know were there is that strip of stuff that is not black? That is the only thing that turns me off about that case.

Here ya go:

Sorry, I can't do one of the finished product yet. I'm going to do some mods first. After that, I'll be able to post quite a few...

EDIT: BTW, that's a carbon fiber look-alike strip there. Also, this case REALLY keeps fingerprint marks. Any idea on how to remove them?

Thanks alot man! Its not as bad as I thought... I could live with it. Does it serve any purpose? I dont see why they just didnt leave it black? Anyway...

Thanks for answering all of my questions, its nice to see there are nice people in the world.

Ok now last question :D. If I get one I am gonna want to put 1 maybe 2 120mm blue led fans on the top for blowholes. Will there be room? I have not been able to find any of the measurments for the top panel. Thanks again!

SORRY! What color lighting you gonna do? Mine will be bloooo.

i'd take picks of my 424 if i had a digi cam. I love my 424, it seems to be just as nice as my friends lili pc 60, execpt the 424 costs so much less :D . a great case.

The top panel is 20". So, consider how long your PSU is and do the math. Two 120s will be roughly 10" long...
