Quadro FX4000 - need help!

Hello,

I have started a thread about my woes in the Guru3D forum - but thought that I would ask here. Those who are interested can read the background here: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=100518

Is there anyway other than tearing the heatsink off the gpu of determining whether or not my card is a genuine Quadro card?

*gasp* nice card... I dunno of any way to tell without removal of the sink, but you could email Nvidia (or whatever company built the card) and ask about the bios number thats on the sticker on the back. They should be able to tell you what kind of card it is.

Try the 65 version drivers? I think the older version drivers don't have the quadro 4000 in em.

Do you have an svideo port on the card or the 3 pin stereo sync port? If you have the former, it's probably a hacked 6800U, if you have the latter, it's a Quadro.

First off there is no sticker on the card that says Quadro...I would assume that would be present...

Second off, a capacitor was broken off?

This looks like a 6800U reference sample modded to a Quadro...but I don't really know...

Christ...why the hell would anyone spend 1100 on ebay if you're not completely sure what you're getting.
