Q's about replacing LCD on laptop?

My buddies laptop got got a broken screen on the ride back from iraq.

Laptop is an Satellite A355D-S6921 widescreen 16" 1366 x 768.

#1 is it possible to upgrade the LCD while replacing it?
#2 is Ebay the cheapest place to source a new panel?
#3 glossy vs non glossy

1. Probably not. In all likelihood you will need to replace some electronics as well.
2. Probably not, but it is not easy finding a company that sells new LCD panels.
3. That's up t the end user's preference. I prefer matte finish.
4. Buying a new latop may only cost a little more since the LCD panel is usually the most expensive component in a laptop, plus the cost of installing if you are not confident you can do it yourself.

and a replacement panel is $75 shipped from ebay
