What is the best PSU and optical drives to use in the Qpack? Any problems with an x1900xt fitting in there? What different heatsinks can you use?
 
Im not realy sure, but depending on the board you can use a zalman 7700 which is proly best thats gonna fit in a Qpack. (it will fit on a biostar) Ive seen a few people stick some OCZ modstream PSU's in the Qpack, but your going to need to use a lite-on, u might have to use something shorter like a laptop drive...

BenQ DW1640 is a great Optical drive for a QPack. It fits with a Enermax Liberty 500.

So take those 2 sizes.
 
The people I built some x-qpacks for wanted LightScribe drives, so I built their systems with HP DVD740RI LightScribe drives and Liberty 500 PSU's. I experienced no fitment issues other than having to deal with long cabling on the Enermax PSU. There was almost ~1.5" of clearance between the back of the Liberty PSU and the HP Lightscribe drive. Directron has the BenQ Lightscribe on sale right now for $59.99 including shipping and I belive its the same size as the HP's I used.
 
Anyone knoe if a Thermalright 120 SI?

I had an X connect 500w in there and an ASUS DVD in there. Kind of tight.

This is my next build... again now that there are some OC boards out there.

Biostar and maybe even that Epox might be a decent OCer.
 
I have an Enermax Liberty 400W power supply in mine with an OptoWrite DVDRW drive, they just barely fit. My cpu cooler is an Artic Cooling 92mm thermally controlled dealie, i forget the model # (TC4 maybe?). It also just barely fits, when i slide the motherboard tray out, the top of the fan frame scrapes on the case.

Biggest problem i have is the length of the power cables on the Enermax. Seems that as they get warm, they flex and sag and dip into one fan or another. ;]
 
BTW, when I used the "Q" I had much better temp results when I switched the fan into an in intead of an out. I also had a different fan. I hated the Aspire one.

I'm also leaning towards the Enermx 485w one. I need quiet and also will the Thermal SI with a 120 fit in there? I'm not in the states right now and I would like to order it before I get there... I don't remmeber since the case has been lying there for a whil with no use. If not I'll just buy the 770 Z and mod it.
 
I have an Enermax Liberty 400W power supply and the asus dvd burner, and had about 1.5" of room, no problem fitting it all

That is what I got...works ok so far...the xfinity has a lifetime warrenty which is nice.
